Over Looked Longboarding Trick

I was reading this post on SilverFish Longboarding.  One of the most forgotten and underused tricks in skating is "the wave".

This is so true.. Usually you'd expect passing cars to say (in a grandpa voice) "slow down sunny!"
But instead, most of the time when I wave at people the crack up and start laughing.
I think the ones that do get mad are just mad because they never learned to ride a skateboard.
Check out James Kelly as he gives a little wave to the ladies in this video (this guy is sick)
*also notice the song is the Gorillaz*

Longboarder kicks butt at Snowboarding

This is pretty cool. A guy that is a professional longboarder hit the sloaps and killed it! Nicolas Desmarais said "Watch out guys! I think a lot of longboarder should get into this sport, it's very similar to longboarding and you can have some air time"

I'm so glad that spring weather is fast approaching, but next winter I will take Nico's advice and get some air whilest flying down a mountain. Read the full article by Skateslate here http://www.skateslate.com/rider-news/1125-nicolas-desmarais-boarder-cross-champion

Jam on Pandora

Pandora is so cool. I'm not sure how regular radio stations can compete?
This week I"m digging some classic's and following Led Zeppelin's pandora station.

Also came across the Crash Kings.

Love this song by the Crash Kings. I don't know why I keep forgetting about them. Perfect Longboarding song! ...Mountain Man!

Summertime

Yesterday I asked the question to my fans on facebook; "Writing a song this week. What should it be about? a) Summer b) California c) Fellini's or d) Longboarding."
With the first response being "A) Summer" I went to work with my acoustic and knocked this one out.  Join the conversation on facebook at http://facebook.com/hansdanielsmusic
I freakin' LOVE summer, so this one wasn't hard for me to get into.  I started the song talking about what summer was like when I was a kid.  I played the guitar in a kind of ska/raggae pattern that gave it a beach feel.  The second verse differs from the first verse in that I'm now all grown up. The 2nd verse says that I still like summer, but I can't have as much fun because I have all these grown up problems.  I think the overall point of this song is to remind us all to slow down, life's too short.

when i was a kid, it was the pool
no text books meant freedom
watching cartoons all day
babe ruth baseball was serious business
somewhere between april and may
i'd jump into the river watch my cares float down
i knew there wasn't nothing more
important than making sure i had enough bait

summertime everything's slower
pack your bags (yeah) 'cause life is a trip (oh)
sometimes you get a little older
you think you got smarter, cause you got paid
summertime everything's slower
pack your bags (yeah) 'cause life is a trip (oh)
sometimes you get a little older
you think you got smarter, but you lost your way

feeling, feeling me now
sum, sum, summer
now i am a man, i have a pool
i never see it cause work comes first for me
that ain't the way life's supposed to be, but
i got bills, i got a new car,
they got me by the balls
i think i'll throw it all
in the river now
oh watch it all float down

summertime everything's slower
pack your bags (yeah) 'cause life is a trip (oh)
sometimes you get a little older
you think you got smarter, cause you got paid
summertime everything's slower
pack your bags (yeah) 'cause life is a trip (oh)
sometimes you get a little older
you think you got smarter, but you lost your way

feeling, feeling me now
sum, sum, summer

it seems like just yesterday
i was sitting under that shade
watching the bugs leap off the ground
all the sounds, i can still hear it

summertime everything's slower
pack your bags (yeah) 'cause life is a trip (oh)
sometimes you get a little older
you think you got smarter, cause you got paid
summertime everything's slower
pack your bags (yeah) 'cause life is a trip (oh)
sometimes you get a little older
you think you got smarter, but you lost your way

Name that tune.. I mean price

You, ladies and gentlemen, can name the price you want to pay for my song. Listen to it.. and it it's worth 2 cents, then that's what you'll pay

Hans Daniels Bio

Hans Daniels hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, is an Alternative/Rock/Pop artist who has added a smidgen of Hip Hop & Ska Punk to his repertoire, to complete the unique style of music that he defines as his own. Hans' early days growing up on a farm in North Carolina were meager, as he dreamed big on ways to escape either through playing professional baseball or becoming a rock star. The quest to become a rock star won out as Hans felt instinctively that he was on the right path with recording music. The music Hans created early on became his weapon of choice as a young teenager when he rebelled against his father by performing loud rock music that his father despised. When Hans invited friends over to play music he also discovered he had a talent for not only playing music but writing songs as well. Learning to write songs motivated Hans to perform his original material as a means to avoid being influenced by other mainstream artist’s sounds.

Hans notes some of his musical influences as Sublime, Green Day, 311 & Rage against the Machine. Recording music is only one part of the excitement for Hans, performing live takes it to another level for him. He has performed at some cool venues along the way including Poolside on the top of the W Hotel in Downtown Atlanta & at Centennial Olympic Park where he opened for the Black Eyed Peas in front of an 8000 plus crowd. Creating music that gets people to think about their lives, while at the same time prompting them to hit the dance floor, is part of the motivation for Hans Daniels. The long term goal for this rising artist is to become part of music history with a global reach that injects music fans with doses of positive energy from time to time. Hans Daniels intentions are not to preach being positive but more so to spark thinking & if that leaves his listeners feeling good afterwards, then he will welcome that as well. Hans Daniels will release his debut EP that includes the growing fan favorite song titled, “Freaking Out” in the spring of 2011.
